I am a commercial Finance Director with a practical hands on approach. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, I have held a number of positions in multinationals and smaller businesses, including start-ups and PE backed Companies. Since 2003, I have run my own consultancy providing FD and HR services for a small portfolio of companies working as either a short-term Interim or on a part time basis. I understand the demands placed on SME’s in a competitive market today and work very closely with MD’s, acting as a sounding board, helping to improve profitability and formulate strategy.

I help SME’s and owner managed businesses grow, increase profitability and help plan for exit. It can be lonely running a business and I act as a sounding board to owners and directors providing commercial and strategic advice.

I provide a Weekly dashboard, relevant Management Information (MI) and focussed KPI’s to assist SME’s achieve their goals. I produce regular management accounts, set annual budgets and provide rolling forecasts for use internally and externally (eg banks and investors).
I ensure robust controls are in place and will build, support and coach the finance team. I will deal with and manage the relationship with external advisors and other external bodies (e.g auditors, HMRC, bankers, insurers, investors).
